The kids hated writing. Tried writing prompts but the kids hated it!
They hated it because it was an audience of 1. Where is the value in writing?
No sense of contribution to the global community.
They are not leaving behind a legacy.

The Process:
Developed an idea

What standards were covered? Cross subject area as they graphed downloads and more. 1st book covered 79 standards in 2 weeks!
The kids were motivated by this sharing and creation. Caused behaviors to change in a positive manner.
Already taking assignments that they were doing in classes and published them for the world to see.
Social Skills Vol. 1 – Worked with autistic students who had trouble with speech and social skills. The book had bad behavior, verbal, written accounts and then the positive social skill.
This helped them develop and work on their skills!
Students at all grade levels are now writing books and becoming published authors!
Over 2 years they have almost 22,000 downloads and 19 books published!
